Amazon Pays You to Share a Wish List?

Ask a Question

I recently received an email from amazon they sent me 42 Image p gift card, it was not a refund or promotion, upon checking the details I noticed it had to do something with my wish list but I don't know how I happened :/

WindowShopper I don't know if you noticed but that ruler you think they're trying to sell you for £2.39 can be bought for 28p with free delivery to Prime members. Look in right hand column.

Sarahvwomble I don't think it is much of a bargain at 28p, it only looks good because it's on same page as the same thing costing £2.39. It's a six inch piece of plastic probably worth about 2p (or less).

40p you must be joking! What a waste of time promoting just 40p. Contact Amazon asking if they’ve made a mistake and should it be £40.

I've not yet forgiven Amazon for swindling me out of 47p - I'm now wondering what they did with the other seven pence.

God works in mysterious ways - but Amazon can beat him hands down :-)

Is there any chance the email isn't actually from Amazon?

If there are any links in that email - it could be some scammer hoping you try to sign in via the link (out of curiosity) thus revealing your Amazon sign in details.

It might seem unlikely, but worth checking out. Can't be too careful nowadays.

davidstockport I’d be worried about this too. I’ve just spent some time Googling and can’t find anything about this offer.

But I did read about how it’s important to set your Wishlists to ‘Private’ otherwise you’re leaving yourself wide open to identify theft.

snoogans888 I did likewise I did wonder if the opening poster meant £40 (as I didn't think - could be wrong - that gift cards could be issued for such small amounts.

I notice the opening post has been edited significantly from what I and other posters replied to. This might help explain to those who didn't see the original posting some of the replies given.

At time of writing the amount is 42 (no denomination stated) something said suggests an earlier edit might have been to 28.

Perhaps WindowShopper can clarify - I'm sure most understand problems caused by dyslexia and will try to help. I do suggest that it helps if edits are made as an addition to a post, not by altering what has already been said (and replied to).

Will you ask them what they did with the 47p they swindled me out of, or have they noticed how I got it back? (with interest) ;-)

Also ask them to give my regards to Alexa - (she's the only one with any sense).
