Has Anyone Bought a Lucky Dip/mystery Deal?
Ask a Question
I noticed that a lot of companies are offering a lucky dip for X amount but it's supposed to have a higher value. I have seen this for clothing, toiletries and even candles. But whilst you get an indication what you might get its a mystery as you don't choose. Is this just a way for companies to get rid of unpopular lines or are they a good deal. Has anyone bought any and would you recommend it?
Wouldn’t want to chance this .... I just always think it’s old stock that they can’t shift... so if that’s the case... they have not sold it for a reason!!! There is no way that these companies are going to put recent items in a mystery box. Keep your money and buy 1 decent present as apposed to 6 totally unusable ones xxxxxxxxx
I purchased a mystery bundle from Jean Patrique https://jean-patrique.co.uk/ last year and to be fair it was a good value bundle worth at least twice what I paid for it, but I am not sure I would have actually purchased all of the items so not sure I would do it again. The main pan , knives and electronic salt & pepper set were excellent quality items though so it was a good bundle all in all.
I've seen this type of deal before, but haven't tried it yet. This is very popular in Japan at New Year - it's called Fukubukuro. Some shops/brands are so sought-after you need to enter and win a raffle before you are allowed to buy a bag... On a similar theme, a cinema I go to (when it's open) has a mystery screening every month or so of a soon to be released film. Tickets are cheaper, but there is always the risk it'll be something you really don't want to watch. For some films I've seen quite a lot of people leave when they see the opening credits
I bought a lucky dip deal last year, I only paid £2 but the price inside wasn't worth 50p. I got a childish bracelet that was covered in dirt
No, would never throw my money away on something like that, id always want to know what i was getting
No, but I know someone who has signed up for subscription boxes where they guarantee the items they get are worth more than the subscription costs. So far, they’re happy
I’ve tried a couple of these, I had the Pink Parcel a few times when that was running (it’s stopped now and they have a new one called mysa I think), I found that the Pink Parcel was always good though
I ordered a 'lucky dip' bundle of 5 T-shirts (deal on here). They were for men and I requested medium, fit all the boys in the family. Big disappointment none would fit a 'medium man' the flowery one I'm wearing, (only just fits size 10/12), 1 x large sequined H, 1 x England shirt, 1 x view of LA, 1 x rude gherkin. They all have a home, just not the one I expected.
