Has Anyone Else Had Email - Origin Invitation?

Had email from shopping (who closed my account about a month ago due to being oversubscribed) inviting me to join new program "origin". Whereby they install device to monitor media usage. Has anyone else received this? Not sure how i feel about this type of market research? Thoughts welcome
