Anyone Else in a Relationship but Not Celebrating Valentine's Day
Ask a Question
Just wondering if any others don't bother. We did at first, but that kind of fizzled out. Neither of us is romantic.
We've been together for nearly 11 years, married for almost 8, we don't bother with it. We celebrated it the first year we were together and the first year we got married, never bothered after that. It's just another day for us.
Leannexxx I think mostly to show off on social media how special you are these days
We don’t celebrate Valentines Day, there’s no need. We treat each other throughout our lives not just valentines and Christmas.
I've been with my beautiful wife for 23 years and I have been always ordered to not spend any money when it comes to Valentines . I was even told off when years ago I got flowers ,cards ,chocolates and some clothes and it literally didn't cost me 1 penny and I was told off because I had bought some presents even though it was free .
stuartsmith544 now I would always appreciate free chocolate, not necessarily the overpriced heart shaped ones
We don't celebrate either we get each other a card . You can celebrate being together all year round don't need to be told when .
sarah4701 mr iamcheap doesn't appreciate cards so I don't bother although I did him a nice card for his 50th last month
Me and MrsChimp have been together for over 20 years and usually do a little something for Valentine's. She's just left for work and I found a card by the bed which is in Welsh, which really touched me seeing as she's English.
I will be making her a nice tea this evening with a bottle of fizz.
TheChimp tbh if he tried cooking me a nice tea I'd worry. He isn't known for good cooking but his omlet is better than mine
We exchange cards and starting in 2020 and lockdown make our own which are very 'Blue Peter' the content of which cannot be on display if visitors in house.
We don’t spend lot but always do the same… a £5 gift, a coke cooked steak dinner and a movie. Perfect.
SaveMeSunday I like the idea of steak dinner but I'm the only one, did have very nice steak dinner which was in valentine's deal with daughter last week
