Has Anyone Made Concrete Leaves or Used Nylon Fibres to Strengthen Cement ?

Ask a Question

I'm having a go at creating my own concrete leaves-hoping to paint and give as gifts. I want to make a good job of them and YouTubers (usually Canadian or American), recommend addition of some nylon fibres to strengthen the material. Has anyone any advice having made similar items please. I can't find anything in the UK but i'm guessing I'm just not searching in the right categories. Image

No idea at the moment but currently there is a global shortage of cement so price has increased a fair bit

ch7leach Oh heck ...thanks .... I knew about timber having apparenty it doubled in price ! Fortunately, I got my cement last year AND it's been stored dry . I made 3 leaves ok but now want to make some that are as strong and professional as possible for Xmas gifts for family. Fingers crossed someone else responds with info for that. thanks again.

I realised I could post my question on the FB site DIY on a budget (thanks LD) .... I had a couple of responses which have sorted me I think. I've splashed out a whopping 99p on a sample pack of fibres so will try them and the post pics here too in case anyone's interested.
