Apple Launches AirPods Pro at $249 (193.8 Pounds)

In the News

Apple Inc (AAPL.O) on Monday launched Apple AirPods Pro, an upgraded version of its premium wireless earphones with noise cancellation feature.

Priced at $249 (193.8 pounds), the earphones will start shipping on Oct. 30, Apple said, adding that the new AirPods are also sweat and water resistant.

The company is doubling down on its wearables and services units to boost revenue as it faced slowing iPhone sales in recent quarters.

Can't blame them if they can find people stupid enough to buy them at that price. I remember having Apple earphones in the past and the sound quality was poor compared to my Grado's and AKG headphones which were a comparable price. The Apple headphones were ok though unsure who made them for Apple. I used to have some iriver headphones which came with a iriver mp3 player and they had very decent sound and they were made for iriver by sennheiser I think. Apple may design products but they don't manufacture them and for something like headphones I expect they use pre-existing driver units in the headphones so it would probably make a lot more sense to go directly to the real manufacturer if all you care about is sound quality rather than the latest features however better still just buy better headphones from a real hifi company that makes great headphones.

Apple brand is as good as gold for customers who want to burn their money. I'd bet that someday Apple will release £1k AirPods and it'll be a huge success.
