Have You Been Asked to Lose Weight for a Social Event?

Yikes. This is certainly a bizarre scenario that I can’t even begin to imagine would happen to me.

Has anything similar happened to you?

Nothing like this has ever happened to me, but then I don't know anyone like this bride! She sounds like a very superficial person, and I'm glad the cousin didn't give in to her demands.

I would be perfectly happy being a size 12. That bride needs to be taken down a peg or two. Let’s hope she never has children, chubby babies on breast milk are adorable.

How ridiculous! Size 12 is perfectly reasonable. Without a medical condition size 8 must be borderline anorexic?? Perhaps this was just an excuse to 'drop her'!

This is just the sort of press fuelled bull**** that puts pressure on women to be a certain size. Love what you are and stick the largest two fingers up to anyone saying otherwise

This bride is considering ‘the optics’ over her cousin’s feelings. She is very image driven. That’s what comes of living your life via social media!

I wouldn’t want to go to her wedding if she asked me this!

I remember when I got married, my best friend, who was my bridesmaid, was worried she would ruin my photos as she thought she would look fat in them! I told her I didn't care what size she was and that she could never ruin the photos. I let her pick her own dress so that she felt 100% comfortable, she got to pick how to style her own hair and her make up, her own jewellery etc as I wanted her to feel comfortable and be happy with how she looked, as she was an important part of my day.

This isn't the first article I've read about brides telling bridesmaids to lose weight.

I am a plus sized women. Most women are sensitive about their weight, I would have thought if she was that worried about people's appearance she would have only asked slim friends!

I think I would drop out of the wedding party as she seems like a Bridezilla 😊

Also as we all know sizes vary from brand to brand part of the excitement is going with friends to select the dresses. She is taking a big risk assuming they will fit any body shape, unless there was also a height requirement
