I've just asked for a few simple things- scented candles, toiletries, stuff like that. Nice little things that I can use and enjoy.

I haven't asked for anything as I don't really need anything. I know two of the items my mum had bought us but I've told everyone not to buy me anything and to use the money for more important things like bills or to save it for travel expenses when we are able to see each other again. I never ask for anything for Christmas. My parents always get us stuff they know we need, granny always gives us money so we can buy what we need or want and my in laws always get us practical stuff that we will need during the year.

I enjoy getting new pjs, slippers and toiletries as presents.

Now I'm an adult nothing. I'd rather have a gift on MY birthday. Christmas now just seems to be who can outdo who and how much money can they spend. Example my Partners son has bought a ride-on police car AND ride-on police motor bike for his 4 year old both from Santa, plus pop-up police station and all things related. I asked why car and bike, because he asked for them! What utter nonsense.

lilyflower we've bought our son a kids tablet as he likes using Daddy's kindle, he is only 2, so nothing expensive. Our friend has bought their 2 year old the latest ipad! I don't understand why people spend so much on one day! It is totally about keeping up with the Jones! Plus just because he asked for it doesn't mean he gets it! He doesn't need both!

MrsCraig that's so odd, an expensive ipad for a 2 years old! People must have too much money or something!!

G0501 I agree, it's very odd! I bought one for £40! They definitely don't have too much money, according to them they just don't want him to miss out. He is 2! His mates aren't running around showing off their ipads making him feel left out! I just don't get it.
