Baths - Inspiration

Ask a Question

I've been looking at different styles of baths for our house renovation. I like the inset kind of one's you would tile around but the other half prefers the free standing ones. I've got a feeling the free standing ones would be a nightmare for plumbing in a bungalow as most I've seen have floor standing taps which wouldn't be an issue with floorboards upstairs but as we will have solid floors and it's a bungalow I suspect the only option is wall mounted which then kind of defeats the object of it being free standing if it needs to be close to a wall for the taps!

Can anyone inspire me with bath pictures?

Thanks I've looked on Google images but I'm more after real opinions/inspiration and practical views.

rararachel We had a cast iron slipper bath installed in a previous home, and got around the it 'needs to be near the wall for plumbing' problem by installing it on a large wooden platform, to hide the pipework. The platform needs to be big so that you can get in and out of the bath easily. (i.e. you need to maintain the standard distance between the top of the bath and the floor, otherwise it's like trying to get on, or off, a bicycle that's way too big for you). I'm not explaining this very well...😂

Johnny ah ok I think I understand! So basically a large step. Did you have a floor standing tap then? I'd be a bit worried about our tiling/whatever we have on the floor. ...
