BBC Xmas Tv Show Revealed

Other

Mrs browns boys

As ever Mrs Brown's Boys will either leave viewers in hysterics with two one-off specials, with Agnes becoming a non-singing member of the choice, whilst New Year brings about fresh starts for the beloved Irish family.

Doctor Who

Following the news that Jodie Whittaker will be leaving her role as the titular Time Lord in 2022, Doctor Who will be returning to kick off the New Year, with a slew of guest stars including Aisling Bea, Adjani Salmon and Pauline McLynn.

Call The Midwife will also return for its ninth annual Christmas episode, with Nonnatus House gripped by wedding fever as Lucille and Cyril prepare to tie the knot.

But as the maternity home is filled with mothers-to-be, Mother Mildred is once again on hand to help.

Death In Paradise fans can also enjoy a trip to Saint Marie in the show's first ever Christmas Special, where star Danny John-Jules will also make an unexpected return.

Sir David Attenborough joins biologist Prof. Ben Garrod and a team of archaeologists and palaeontologists as they carefully excavate the quarry where the bones of a mammoth were found.

As the team finds more stone tools lying side-by-side with more mammoth bones they realise this could be a once in a generation discovery offering a unique window into prehistoric Britain.

Family favourite Shaun The Sheep will also debut a festive special titled The Flight Before Christmas, while an animated adaptation of Superworm will be narrated by Olivia Colman, Rob Brydon and Matt Smith.

Ghosts will be back for a special Christmas episode this December.

Two brand new one-hour films directed, created and starring Mackenzie Crook: Twitchers and Calliope Jane - inspired by the classic books by Barbara Euphan Todd - are coming to BBC One this Christmas.

In the Repair Shop this Christmas, the team takes on a very special mechanical doll, a traditional German decoration, an ageing harmonium, and a train set all the way from Kenya.

Surprised they're still doing Mrs. Brown's Boys because of how things are.

It has triggered some folks, e.g.: https://thespinoff.co.nz/tv/14-09-2018/the-rampant-transphobia-of-mrs-browns-boys

To me, that's just a poor man's (no pun) version of Robin Williams' Mrs. Doubtfire. Robin Williams was funny, entertaining and memorable.

Cant stand Mrs Browns - but nothing much listed above excites me - might watch the Attenborough show and possibly Shaun the Sheep though.

Could of put money on Mrs Browns Boys and Call the Midwife being on Christmas Day.

Almost certainly to be joined by Strictly and a Michael Mcintyre "Special".

Same S*&t, different year.

Reading that makes me so glad I stopped getting a tv license about 3 years ago. I wouldn't watch any of that to be honest. A significant chunk of the tv license just pays for the BBC pensions nowadays as well, as there is a shortfall in the funds and they have been historically overly generous with their pensions. Somehow doesn't seem right that people are being forcibly taxed to pay other people's pensions considering they are ridiculously generous pension schemes but I suppose it is no different to the huge pay some presenters get.

Luckily for the Latest Deals members I presume there will be a generous helping of Coronation Street , Emmerdale and Eastenders - perhaps even Crossroads and Neighbours ?

TBF I love Mrs Browns Boys and Call the Midwife - but will make sure I have plenty recorded as I dare say the films will also be the same old offerings ☹️.

Just spotted "Death in Paradise " on your post - will definitely watch that -love that series and a bit if sun over Xmas won't do any harm 😀.

I love being charged for crap tv. No wonder look elsewhere for something to watch if that's the best they can offer. I would love to see what would happen to the BBC if it wasn't funded through tv license.
