Do You Believe in Hypnosis?
Ask a Question
Do you believe in hypnosis and have you ever been hypnotised either for fun or for hypnotherapy? Im considering it for some self improvement
I‘m not entirely convinced, but I know some people are more susceptible than others. Someone I knew who was no believer in such things ended up as one of David Blaine’s subject matters and could only logically conclude that he had been hypnotised into giving his personal items over to David Blaine himself
I've heard that some people are easier to hypnotise than others. David Blaine came to the town next to me about 4/5 years ago for a magic convention at a hotel. He was doing tricks left, right and centre. Someone I worked with said he had hypnotised them and lots of other people. He walked around the town centre at night stopping in at bars doing tricks.
OneeyedRaven I think it’s always good to explore the possibilities, even if it’s not something most people believe in
Yes I believe my sis was at a holiday camp when we was younger and it was so funny they got her to do some fun stuff we was all in bits as she didn't have a clue what she had done when she came out of it
I've had hypnotherapy for a fear, and it helped somewhat, it relaxed me, but i didn't feel it worked 100% for me, works better for others
this is why I was asking KirstyW I was hoping i could use it as therapy, has the fear returned as bad or did the effects last if you dont mind me asking? xx
OneeyedRaven the fear isnt as strong but i think that was because I was a child, i would get so worked up id be having a panic attack, whereas now I'm nervous and dread appears. It is worth a try and I do think it depends on the fear or phobia.
It depends....I do not think, I could get fully relaxed and go under properly when I know what is happening.
Hypnotherapy, yes. I don't think the whole 8 people on stage and........sleep when you wake up your a chicken is real
Yes it did work for my sister she had just turned 18 and knew nothing was was happening that night be4 the show and neither did we she was picked random
I think, in theory, it would work for things like habits you want to break where a hypnotist could possibly create a negative association with those things so that you wouldn't want to do them anymore. Or curing addictions.
This makes me think of Chandler in Friends trying to use to quit smoking.
Im wanting it for therapy to deal better with work anxiety etc although I dont think id mind waking up feeling like I was a beautiful independent woman or however the quote goes!
i think its a whole load of crap if any one wants to send me vids of it working then i will watch them
I tried listening to Paul McKenna's I can make you thin gastric band session on CD. The rest of the day and the next I really cut out food but then it seemed to wear off so I was glad I'd got it from the charity shop and hadn't paid hundreds for that. However I also had a stress relief one that still works now so I think it depends what you opt for
oooh interesting I think I it needs to be consistent I guess to maybe have more long lasting results? thanks
I don’t know if the ones you see on tv/videos are real or not. I used to love watching Derren Brown hypnotising people as it seems so genuine. I would love to be hypnotised into liking food, as my diet is so poor, I think hypnotising would be the only thing that works to sort out my food problems!
