Don't believe in the afterlife, as great as it would be. Heaven is a made up thing, like religion.

Ghosts have a number of potential explanations - some kind of afterlife being one, seeing into the past or future, other dimensions, etc. I doubt we'll ever know.

I''m 99.9% certain there isn't but you should never be 100% about anything unless you know absolutely everything. We are not long out of the trees and we make up many lies to make our lives seem better I just feel religion is a control mechanism as it makes people behave in a more responsible way and it helps motivate armies by reducing their fear of death but I also know we are on a long path of learning and know very little about the universe really. I'm sure there are huge discoveries to come in the future which we cannot even guess at now. Nature is exceptionally cruel though and an after-life doesn't make much sense in that context.

I wouldnt even argue with anyone about their own beliefs or religion ...its very personal.

I choose to believe that when its my time to kick it....i will be reunited with my loved ones again. It comforts me.

I believe in the paranormal also.

I do. Iv had many experiences. Not sure I believe in the whole Heaven / Hell scenario but I dont believe 'this' is it. I believe our energy remains in some way.

I too believe some energy remains (the human brain emits electrical impulses - an energy) - and there is scientific proof that energy is just transferred elsewhere - but I believe that energy dissipates to a point where there is no longer enough to do things such as stopping clocks or watches.

I stopped believing in "ghosts" when I was a child and it amazes me the number of adults who still believe in them.

Anything "paranormal" always has a logical explanation or it's just simply someone's mind playing tricks on them. And it's easy to start imagining things after a traumatic experience.

I am sorry, but once you are deceased, you are deceased.

I think it’s just like when we go to sleep but we don’t wake up. We don’t dream nothing. just like the tv when you unplug it

Yes there is an afterlife - it lives in the memories of those who've loved us (or even hated us).

Is there a God? - Of course there is... I believe my (and your) ancestors invented him many generation ago to try to come to terms with the reality that one day we we would cease to exist. It might have been better if instead they'd realised that although we might not exist mortally, we will still exist in the memories of those who loved us, or even hated us.

Do I believe in ghosts? Of course I do! I've seen them many times, fortunately most times I've realised that they emerge from the same part of my mind as my memories live.

Is there a heaven? - Yes there is! It exists while we're alive (still breathing) just as hell, which for some reasons the hierarchy of most religions seems to have decided is no longer a threat, perhaps realising even the most gullible had realised didn't exist... if it did we would have found some way to tap into a vast source of renewable energy.

I think in everyone's heads there is a battle between rational thought and what we want to believe to make our live's seem more comfortable and give us greater purpose. It's hard to complain about people who aren't rational when maybe their life has been difficult and it is there as a mechanism for coping or there are other reasons.

I believe in an afterlife, I don't know what shape it takes place in but I do believe the soul leaves the body. I have had several experiences that have led me to believe this but I know so many people would call it cranky. I might be wrong I can concede that but what I find sad is people of science stating categorically there is no afterlife when science is so limited in its knowledge of everything. As I say each to their own, I have 3 children, 1 believes, 1 doesn't know and the other is absolutely adamant that there isn't. Surely an open mind is best?

I accept an open mind is best but life is relatively cruel and often hugely disturbing so to believe in an after-life is contrary to the evidence around us in both the limited science we have but more importantly the extreme cruelty of nature. If you believe in evolution which has huge evidence then you know you need no interaction of a god to create life and to be honest when you read religious texts many are filled with huge levels of violence anyway. I think logic dictates that an after-life is extremely unlikely to say the least but not impossible.

I couldn't agree more life is cruel and unfair. Nature can be cruel but the majority of suffering in this world I believe is caused by man and mans greed. I personally don't think there is a god as such but I do feel there is something after this. It is a really fascinating subject and I can see merit in some of the buddhist ways of thinking but go back far enough in history and some horrific things took place amongst Buddhists. Anyway, even if it's only open a tiny bit, it's nice not to shut the door on the possibility. 🙂

Most definitely I believe in an afterlife. I know two of my previous lives (I was a haight-astbury hippy in the 60s and got drowned for witchcraft in the 1600s. I wasn't a witch either. I was a healer and herbalist). I had so many experiences I know there's plenty going on up in the sky. This body I am in is temporary. I'll either be back here again, or moving on upwards in the sky for the next phrase of my development.
