Big Pancake

In the News

So,St David's Day and Shrove Tuesday land in the same place today.

The biggest pancake ever made according to the Guinness book of Records was in 1994 in Rochdale and had to be flipped using a crane!

The highest toss was in the US and was over 31ft.

Just why?

I don't get why people do these records

Mind you, MrsChimp would SMASH that pancake in one sitting.

Bit like Everest I suppose because they can. Enough sugar and lemon and I'd probably be fierce in attack as well lol.

That Rochdale record breaker was heavier than a hippo and was later cut into 15,000 slices and sold off at 25p a slice to feed local charities so not all bad or mad.

MelissaLee1963 Ah, at least something good came out of it.

I wonder how big the slices were 🤔

I do agree TheChimp, why??? I can understand some folks record breaking attempts but what on earth is the point of this one. The expense must have been astronomical and a huge amount of flour and eggs wasted when people in this country are without enough food. Just seems so pointless.

If they had a crane to lift if, how did they mix it a cement mixer ? 😀

I wonder how many eggs they used & whether the end result was edible, from the photo it doesn't look appetizing
