Birthday Treat
Ask a Question
Its my birthday today!
My family expect a big treat from me which is not just a meal or a drink. I have obliged for many years but I think I should be treated.
This year Ive booked the Harry Potter show (Both parts) and costing ove £650!!!
I actually think I should be treated.... Am I wrong...?
Huh why you paying for it? It's your birthday I'd be saying what have they planned for you?
First, Happy Birthday. Second, yes you should be treated. In our family whatever we do on someone’s birthday, the birthday person never pays.
Happy birthday and hope you have a great one, HP sounds like it will be fun. Generally speaking on my birthday I tend to get things and be treated (whilst not expected as I don't need anything), I don't tend to treat others on that day normally.
Firstly Happy Birthday
I think it depends on factors tho. It's nice to be treated & thought of on our birthdays of course, but within reason. £650 is alot of money to some so perhaps they thought it too expensive. However if its just a case of they've haven't bothered or thought of you than yes thats got to hurt.
It's my 40th in Jan. I have told my OH what I would like, he has agreed but I wouldn't have just expected it without a discussion as its an expensive luxury item. I'm also going to London for my bday but I'm paying for that.
Happy Birthday, I think if it's your birthday you should be treated.
However, for my 50th I paid for my family to stay overnight in a hotel and for dinner, but that was instead of having a party. It was only because it was a big Birthday also it was my choice and wasn't expected.
Happy Birthday.
Why are you paying for something for your birthday? They should be buying you something special. It is my birthday soon and I have told people not to buy me anything, I certainly wouldn't be spending money on myself on my birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.......
Ouch hun birthday treat yourself a spa its cheaper you are ment to get treated not taken advantage of
I'd definitely wouldn't be treating everyone else on my birthday. It's your special day so why the heck are you dishing out the treats?
Happy Birthday. I have to agree with everyone else, you should be being treated not the other way round. If they aren't going to treat you then I would recommend treating yourself and not them.
If you have forked out £650 to treat others on your birthday - you definitely should be treated. This is a link to where you can find someone suitably qualified to treat you, www.bacp.co.uk/about-us/protecting-the-public/bacp-register/
Happy Birthday (or what's left of it)
Happy Birthday. Like you we always pay for meals out etc with our children and their partners. Enjoy the show and time spent with them, don’t let the fact that you’ve paid get you down cherish the day.
