Do You like Bond Films?
Ask a Question
Do you like Bond films or do you think theyve had their day? which is your favourite and why?
I like them. My favourites are the Brosnan films, followed by the Moore films. I think the Daniel Craig ones are a bit too fast paced and I miss the gadgets! But they're otherwise good.
Iv always enjoyed a Bond film for the most part. I like Daniel Craig as Bond alot. He's is a bit of alright . Loved Casino Royal & Skyfall, found Spectre boring tho & the latest trailer hasn't got me excited tho I'l still likely go see it. Roger Moore is my all time fav Bond tho mostly bc they are the Bond films I remember mostly growing up.
Yes, I enjoy Bond films and always go to the cinema to watch them when they come out. I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond, but my favourite in the series is probably A View to a Kill. It has a great cast, very cheesy and fun.
Eighteen months after the original release date was postponed due to the pandemic. I've finally seen Daniel Craig's last Bond outing in No Time To Die. I enjoyed the film, but disagree with the critics that gave it a fawning 5 star review. I would rate the other four 007 films he did above the latest film.
As a kid I loved the Roger Moore Bond films like the Spy Who Loved Me. My interest waned with Pierce Brosnan Bond films not because they weren't good films I just think I became a bit tired of the franchise. I've not seen any Daniel Craig bond films. I can't really take the character James Bond too seriously so the more serious style didn't really work for me except the Timothy Dalton films because he was more like a spy and a bit less obvious.
I guess the fact my favourite Bond film was the Spy Who Loved Me shows I don't take Bond seriously, Roger Moore did the film tongue in cheek with a lot of humour and the whole story was over the top with lots of glamour models everywhere, flying helicopters etc. Just a fun film rather than a serious action film.
Also I think as you get older you see repeating patterns in plots and it all becomes more predictable and this applies to lots of movies and series so you end up being less interested in them.
I watched the original Tron movie yesterday which I enjoyed and just trying to watch Tron Legacy which I have not seen before and the film is really slow and irritating at the beginning, yet rated quite good at 6.8 out of 10 on imdb. It feels very un-inspired so far but hopefully will get better. The original Tron came out of nowhere with a pretty mad script but I think it worked. I guess they tried to reboot the franchise with Legacy and maybe would have made more Tron movies if it had been a huge success. It cost about $200 million to make and had a gross of about twice that so probably barely profitable after net returns. A further sequel would have probably been less profitable. Just making the point how Bond has been such an amazing franchise remaining profitable over so many years and so many movies.
Quite like a Bond film thou I think the newer ones are a lot more intense than and not such as easy watch as they used to be years ago. Talk of a woman Bond soon, which I think will be a mistake in it's current form , if they are doing that call it something different and give her a different 00 number , I think that would work well.
I love bond films, have not got around to seeing the new one yet though, i love watching all films like this, i also love films with matt damon in to, only because i have such a crush on him
i dont think ive ever actually seen a single bond film in my life, maybe i should but it doesnt seem my kind of thing lol
No, I think the bond age is over, but a lot of people like it. You would have to tie me to a chair and to get me to watch any of them.
I don’t mind the newer ones, but hated the old stuff, mainly because my dad would watch them over and over.
I have never really seen the older ones, I've only seen from when Pierce Brosnon was Bond. I really enjoy the newer ones, I haven't seen the newest Bond yet, will wait to rent it as don't fancy going to the cinema.
