Boris Johnson Set to Grant Huawei Access to UK's 5G Network

In the News

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is preparing to grant China’s Huawei technologies Co Ltd access to the UK’s future 5G telecoms network

Senior government and security services sources said the UK is moving towards a decision that will see Huawei allowed access to the “non-contentious” parts of the network, which will open rift with United States as it has banned the company over fears that it is too close to Chinese intelligence agencies

*cough* *cough*

First it was the Motherland of Russia, then Ukraine, now China.. who's next? Can't keep up. 😆

The U.S. govt has way too much drama-politics and most of it is kind of unbelievable that they [politicians] and the media spend so much time on, but also its supporters.

Gone are the days when we developed our own technology and competed nowadays we just have open doors to everyone and huge debts. Many criticise the labour party for idealism over common sense but a viewpoint that capitalism should be un-restricted especially for a small country like the UK is also not realistic. As ever the sensible viewpoint is the middle ground away from the extreme viewpoints that are very damaging. Boris Johnson has a fairly extreme viewpoint with regard open trade and seems happy to keep borrowing adding more debt to this country and selling off more assets. As for national security I guess his advisors have stated it will be ok and likely his advisors have weighed up the risks, if the alternative is a US based company then I'm unsure if that would offer any improved security as the US government has used US companies for obtaining information in the past. The US option might be a lot more expensive too and cause a delay in having 5G bandwidth which could cause the UK to be less competitive and I'm sure bandwidth is critical to important industries like banking and finance.
