British Gas Pay Customers to Use Utilities outside of Normal Hours.
Money Saving
Energy giant British Gas has confirmed it will give customers money back if they use electricity outside of popular times in the coming months.
People can get paid to use energy-sucking appliances such as washing machines, tumble driers and ovens late at night or early in the morning.
You'll need to opt-in to the scheme and may be asked to slash your electricity use by 30% from 4pm-7pm however no details have been confirmed yet
We aren't with British Gas but would be interested to know if other companies will be doing something similar. I don't use my washing machine at that time and rarely use my oven at that time either so would be interested in something like this.
Hope my provider offers it or I will deliberately use more at peak times, I am petty like that.
We used to be British Gas but hopefully other energy companies will follow suit or just start dropping their prices, sorry i had a relapse then!
I am a British Gas customer for years', and I can't be bothered to waste my time trying to save 30% off my electricity between 4pm-7pm. It's a no-no from me.
I hope our energy provider offers this. Mind you it’s only cooking dinner that uses much energy during those hours.
