Is Bullfighting.. Animal Cruelty?

Other

Bullfighting is a well known tradition in Portugal and Spain where a bull is toyed around with for the pleasure of the audience, by being stabbed wherever in his body.

That might sound horrible to you, but Bullfighting is a form of art which can be quite beautiful to spectate and the music is phenomenal.

That said, I'm not in favor or against it, just that it's a tradition which is very much cherished by their native populations.

I'm guessing this will eventually be banned, though.

It's very cruel, the animals are drugged and made to fight how could you think it's not?

The poor things are beaten, stabbed, set fire to and dragged through streets all in the name of sport, if they did that to a person it would be called torture, why should it be OK just because it is an animal? Despicable

Animals should not be encouraged to be aggressive even if they are naturally aggressive.

I think it‘s simply cruel - no art in it at all. Perhaps it did have a place in society in the days when people used to watch people being hung, drawn and quartered, or when gladiators fought to their deaths...but we have reality tv now, so there’s no need to continue this so-called sport where the matador has the unfair advantage. I’d like to see a ban
