Ask a Question

Does anyone else love burnt food ? Food with more brown and black .. umm lovely and charry 😋🤤 this could be anything from meat..to roast potatoes...my personal favourite slightly burnt underside of a cake.. Burnt cookies are just heaven .. also I love those odd burnt potato crisps .. 😂

I'm veering towards the same where meat is concerned as it's awful if it's 'bloody' - dead and really well cooked for me. Burnt toast is smashing, apart from setting off the smoke alarm. 🤣 🤣

tumblespots Completely opposite for us, we like our red meat medium rare, but we do make sure that we cook white meat properly.

My cousin, on the other hand, will cook everything within an inch of its life.

We went there for dinner once and I had to say that I was feeling a bit poorly so that I didn't have to eat the food.

I always thought that people saying that eating burnt toast could lead to cancer was an old wives tale, but not now after the post by Lynibis 😮

TheChimp I only posted it because it was from a reputable NHS site, I had heard this several years ago. I know it takes all sorts to make a world but I really can't understand how anyone would like the taste of burnt food!

TheChimp It's a good job it sets the alarm off then as that is a big deterrent for me as I do try to be quiet for the neighbours and all the alarms are connected so if one goes off - they all go off!

I did notice this 'The occasional slice of burnt toast isn't going to kill you, and the link between acrylamide and cancer in humans is unproven.'

Strange isn't it, that although unproven they are making the case as if it is? It was a little contradictory.

tumblespots very true, but I am not one of life's risk takers so will always err on the side of caution lol.

Lynibis ohmy.. Its good I don't eat burnt toast anymore. Though I do think you would need to eat 100+ burnt toasts in one day to reach the toxic level

I enjoy burnt toast, but I have heard of the possible health risks so don't eat it like that all the time. I can't think of anything else I like that well done.

Me too, although it depends what it is. I like crispy textures, but not when it comes to beef, as that should be rare

I know what you mean. I also like slightly burnt cookies, cake and toast. They somehow taste sweeter.
