Has anyone ever bought glasses online? What were your experiences? Would you recommend anyone?
Many years ago, I bought from goggles4u, and my first pair were great - they were cheap, arrived quickly, lasted a long time and my prescription was correct (got them checked out when I had a free eye test, as they always check the glasses you’re currently wearing to see if your prescription needs changing)
the second pair, however, were less than great. I think the lenses are dodgy. I never bothered to complain, and I never bothered to buy again. But perhaps there are better companies now?
I can recommend GOGGLES4U bought from them and very good pair of glasses with lenses for less than a tenner lasted about 2 years before the leg snaps off at the side mount (dont they all) or the middle nose pinch breaks off lol
My ex girlfriend optician used to work for a well known high street retailer in Edinburghs posh shopping precinct out at the airport - she got me a pair of Calvin Klein sunglasses and normal glasses for under £50 for both - the retail to the public was over £300 - she used to tell me how much the stuff cost - amazing how the public are getting ripped off!
I had a similar experience with glasses direct, but I got 2 pairs at the same time as they had a BOGOF offer at the time. One pair was fine, not issues, and still wearable to this day. The other not so much, as the hinge more or less gave way the moment it arrived. Never used them again, even though I think they gave a partial refund
Goggles4u buys from China - Glasses direct is Pakistan i got a pair from Glasses direct so can agree yeah they were awful!
Depends on coronavirus where you buy now though lol
I just ordered a USB microscope and some electronics gear from China - came in this morning and my girlfriend went nuts saying we were gonna get Coronavirus from the packets so i had to pick them up with a pair of pliers and cut them open with scissors - drop the packets in the bin and then put the items in my workroom well away from her "areas"!
Women eh!
I recommend boots as my mate wears glasses and he is still wearing them to this day so presume they are good
I had my tested yesterday within a couple of hours I had ordered two pairs of specs for far less than the frames cost in the opticians. This is my 3rd order online and have been very pleased with the glasses.
