What Do We Call These 4?
Ask a Question
- Bun
- Dressing Gown
- Alleyway
- Crust
Is yours the same? or Do you call 1 something strange like a barm cake?
It could be a bun or a roll, a dressing gown or house coat, alleyway, back alley or ginnel, crust or dogs dinner!
Looks like a bread roll to me! I would usually say bun for a sweet one like Chelsea or Bath, or even a currant bun. The rest are dressing gown, alley and loaf (of bread).
Everyone else has put crust for 4 but I thought it was a whole loaf, if it is just an end slice then yes, crust.
heatherduthie Lol, never heard that to describe a bread bun, it described something not rising to the occasion
I remember we called them different things, most of us called number three "an entry" (That was in Manchester where for most the main "entry" was through the back door) the front door was reserved for weddings and funerals
We were very poor and called number four "dinner".
Getsome Nor had I until I moved down south - although I am back up in East Midlands now.
