Cancelling of Popular Boxsets/series
Other
I appreciate that if viewing figures fall, series get the chop. Trouble is worldwide viewing figures are counted in millions. This means that when a favourite series ends quite a lot of people are disappointed.
I loved the 2 series of Designated Survivor but it has been cancelled despite it's popularity. My son, his son, my boss and partner and myself are all gutted. Still it may be picked up by another network.
Next series of Vikings will be the last but apparently there will be a spin off series. Did you have a favourite series cancelled or ended?
Oh no! Designated survivor was cancelled? The end of season 2 was great, my husband had predicted it lol. Gutted
To be honest I can't remember but when I have watched something really good I am happy to watch again.
At the moment I am introducing a friend to Last Kingdom and she is loving it. I think she will like Vikings even more so I will give that a second go if she is up for it.
I really enjoyed Designated survivor so a bit sad that it won't continue. Some series come to a natural conclusion and nothing more can be done with them. Vikings will be fresher as a spin-off as I always thought that Ragnar was the most charismatic character in the series. It was fact-based with a few artistic changes that kept us all watching but, now all the 'big' things have happened, a new version would be great. I have embarrassingly eclectic tastes that range from historical (you'd know that ) to comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed Hart of Dixie which was harmless and made me smile as I watched (husband told me that) and happily watched The Originals, Vampire Diaries and Lucifer - there was nothing more to be added to their stories. I love The Blacklist but wonder how much longer it will go on for and how they can keep it relevant and fresh, They were wise to make spin-off running alongside the original with Tom as the lead. (Ryan Eggold) If you like him then New Amsterdam is worth a watch just be prepared to have the tissues close by.
I must admit I don't like watching vampire/supernatural type stuff as I live alone and silly as it sounds i do get a bit scared come bedtime lol! I love Blacklist though and will definitely give the others you mentioned a try. I agree about Vikings as long as Ivar gets his comeuppance!
Lynibis I would never read a vampire book......I think it was the absurdity of it and there were definitely some eye candy characters. Yes! I agree about Ivar but, again, history has been meddled with if he was supposed to be Ivar the Boneless. He ruled York, Northumbria and Dublin and I can't see him achieving that before the end of the series. I have to come to terms with the end of GOT and I'm hoping they will string out Outlander to be as full as the books.
I love The Punisher and they are going to get rid of it. Eminem fans have asked him to put money into the show to keep it running.
