Cashless Society

Ask a Question

Happy for cashless society?

Or reluctant to go all in?

The only thing that makes me want cashless is when you find landlords insisting on paying in cash. Thankfully moved on from that place.

I do love a good piggy bank to throw change at.

What do you think of this?

In rural areas and stores that have card machines (due to commission), they only accept cash. Even MasterCard isn't used absolutely everywhere, but in most places.

I rarely pay for anything with cash, but always like to carry some as a precaution. There are an increasing number of places that don't accept cash, which is a risk if they have issues with their card readers ☕

Often use cash for smaller purchases such as a Newspaper, bottle of milk, lunchtime sandwich,. pay the car parking etc.

I still use cash for certain things, like when I take the bus, but most of the time I use my card. I think having cash is still good, especially for teaching children about money.

Even if you want to pay by cash sometimes just so you can see money going out, you are sometimes reluctant to use it yourself when you see a line behind you, just to speed up the process.

I split my spare money in half and have half as cash and half left in the bank for bigger purchases. Like someone said in another post I like putting change in a piggy bank 😊

Im not bothered either way. Card makes life easy. Also less germs being spread by the handling of money. Especially cold and flu.

I go to a restaurant local that is cash only, they tell you as soon as you arrive - Also my gym is an independent gym and is cash only. I would adapt if I had too and so would these places but I think it would be a shame to eradicate cash all together.

I very rarely use cash because i dont carry it unless i know im going somewhere that i will need it - like with my son to his rugby games on the weekends to buy a drink. I would definately not pay a landlord in cash though that just screams dodgy. How can you prove youve paid your rent?

I rarely use cash anymore as its so much easier to just use my card - but I don't think this is the case for everyone, don't think everyone would be happy if this change were to be made
