Have You Changed Your Shopping Habits for Life?

Ask a Question

With non-essential shops set to open in the next few weeks will you be heading to the High Street for clothing and homeware, or has Internet shopping become the norm now?

My daughter (18) regularly buys 3 or 4 similar items of clothing online, tries them on and returns the items that don't fit her. She says it's easier and much more comfortable trying clothes at home than in stores and doesn't plan on returning to "shopping for fun" once things start reopening.

How about you?

I don't believe my shopping habits will change as a result of COVID. I've still been visiting shops/supermarkets for groceries. I've still been getting a coffee from cafes when I'm out walking. I haven't ordered any takeaways to be delivered. I will still prefer trying on clothes in shops before buying. When I purchase items online they tend to be unavailable in my area or a ridiculously good deal. I'm looking forward to being able to visit/sit in restaurants, pubs, cafes, cinemas, theatres, shops, etc again. I don't want to be cooped up at home for most of the day. It's not much fun and not very healthy.

I have still been doing the grocery shopping in store, although I go less often now and do a bigger shop.

I only ever buy clothes when I actually need something, so if I can no longer repair a pair of leggings then I will buy a new pair, but I normally did that online anyway as apart from Primark or the likes of Tesco, I rarely shopped in store for clothes.

I never shopped for fun before covid so won't be doing so afterwards.

If I need homewares I normally get them from the supermarket when doing my grocery shopping or from amazon with my survey vouchers

I prefer shopping in store to shopping online, so I would like to get back to shops. Plus I'd like to support my local high street. But, I get very frustrated with all the people who don't follow social distancing guidelines, so I can see myself shopping online more often for quite some time yet.

Even before lockdown, I did most of my shopping online, as due to ill health I no longer drive and don't feel up to public transport and carrying bags. Plus as a larger ladies there are not that many options left on the high street.

I think I'll eventually go back to shopping in store for clothes. Mostly M&S. I've only bought jeans and slippers in the last year but feel like throwing out a few things that I've been wearing regularly.

I started to buy clothes online after lockdown and o think I will carry on as it is more comfortable than going to the shop. Find it less stressful too.

Not likely. I intend to shop in person again, and look for deals online, like I always have. The only thing I can’t do as much of is travel

I will do a lot less shopping in person in futures as I am now all online for food shopping at least. I will at some time need to get into town for the charity shops when they reopen. I never buy new clothes and am running out of clothes that fit!

I doubt if my shopping habits will change drastically. I was already ordering groceries and various other things online prior to COVID I still do go out for certain essentials or meds but am better at only doing it once a week rather than multiple trips as before.
