Christmas on a Budget - Top Saving Ideas on Presents, Food, Decorations Etc.

Thought I'd start this thread for any ideas on money saving Xmas ideas - whether it's where you go to get good deals on presents, home made ideas, recipes, how to do DIY decorations etc. Let's get festive on a budget!
I always struggle with pressie for men so I check out TK Maxx right before Xmas for stocking fillers. They often have designer socks, scarves and gloves reduced right down.
tip to help you for christmas 2019 , but gifts in sales in january , most things will keep , especially if they are clothes or childrens toys , candles and even perfume sets .
Buy wrapping paper, bags in the January sales. Also buy presents for the next year in the January sales and put them away in the cupboard. Look for presents all year round. So take advantage of toys sales, clothes sales etc
I always think I'll stock up on wrapping paper, decorations and gifts in the January sales but I never do as the following Xmas always seems so far away and then every year I regret it! Definitely going to make more of a effort in the January sales this year. At least online anyway, they scare me a bit in person
buy all year through like i do ... see something u think someone would like and u can just about buy it first check the voucher codes and then u might save more n then check around at different shops n then buy it x ... ive already finished this years and now on birthday pressies for next year ... i do this all the time as i wouldnt be able to afford it x
jojowane67 I do it year round with birthday pressies, especially for my female friends/relatives as they're quite easy to buy for (bath stuff, perfume, general girly stuff) but my family are all male apart from my nieces and sister in law and they're also really picky and not into stereotypical 'blokey' gifts so I get so stuck on them for Xmas. I get stuck on their birthdays too lol so just end up asking them what they want and it's normally vouchers or cash... the worst news for the budget hunter!
annacat my hubby is the exact same i'm saying 'finished i telling lies coz i need t get his and i'm using my vouchers off her plus some I've saved x 'and i not got a clue x
jojowane67 Haha they're always the hardest to buy for! I'm good at getting the little stocking fillers like booze, chocolate, socks, gloves etc. but there's only so many of them you can buy every year. It's the 'big pressie' for them I always get stuck on. My nieces and sister in law are easy peasy and always have a list of stuff you can get anywhere. Ah well. Good luck with hubby's gift! x
Save on wrapping paper, by wrapping presents in old newspapers, comics, or brown paper tied with nice ribbon.
