Christmas Dec's in Shops

Other

Just watching a video on YouTube about harrods Xmas shop that's been open at least a month (the vidro was posted a month ago). Do you think August is far to early for harrods to have it open now same as other shops having Dec's in now. Yes I love watching stuff like this just cos I love the window shopping without having to window shop🤣

Christmas chocs and mince pies have been out for a few weeks now, so why not decorations? It's all a money grabbing con job anyway .

Roll on December 26th when I can start buying Easter eggs.

TheChimp true. We get a new Dec for the tree every year. When the kids move out the Dec's choose by them will be for their own tree with their own memories

Well I suppose the shops do have to get their stock organised for the whole public. No one is making us buy anything this early. Now it’s nearly October I am starting to look for bits and bobs because I remember when I left it until December last year most good stuff at good prices was already gone and only the drab stuff left.

Decorations, food and clothes have been in the shops since the middle of August. It doesn't bother me really. People might be starting earlier than normal due to having to spread the cost more.

Yes It Is way too early. I went to Home Bargains two weeks ago and one aisle was full of Christmas stuff. I said to myself you sad gits. Supermarkets ruin Christmas. Its only greed. When I used to work for ASDA they would appear In the Warehouses just after August. The roll up to actual Christmas, Easter Eggs would appear on Shippers. When I was a Kid Christmas was Christmas. Never saw the darn things In the shops until a few weeks to Christmas. They are all bloodsuckers now.

Had my 1st fill of mince pies from the shop today . I bought a Christmas tree in our local gardening centre and the other day I purchased some Christmas decorations and lights for the house .I have been buying them all year as when the November and December comes those same decs will be higher and I prefer paying less for them .

HEDGEHOGS Did you check the expiry date? I always check the date first before rushing to buy an eligible bargain.

jam45 They were the bakery ones so would be just normal as in a few day I think. I actually don't like mince pies.

I like the items being available early. It gives ample time to compare prices etc & still buy fairly early. I like to be done buying gifts etc by early December so I can relax & enjoy the many social festivities stress free in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Do you have a colour theme and do you change it? I’ve stuck with my old fashioned ones for years but now looks dated. Don’t want to spend much though.

Pretty normal for Christmas stuff to start appearing in August always have done , just like Boxing day will see the start of Easter eggs on the shelves . I suppose it helps people budget and that can buy bits every week ,obviously the main reason the shops do it is profit thou , they know we will scoff those chocolate/biscuits and cakes we buy well before Christmas and have to buy more .

I shop for Christmas gifts all year but August is far to early for Christmas decorations in shops. Surely after Halloween would be better.
