Christmas Dinner, Traditional Turkey Roast or Something Different?

Ask a Question

For those celebrating Christmas

We love our roasts so we’re having the normal turkey roast. We sometimes add some gammon/ham joint depending on how many we cater for. Anyone have anyt differen. would love to know what you have instead

We just have a chicken! I do like turkey dont get me wrong but can’t justify the price of one I always feel like they’re crazy expensive and I could just have a nice chicken instead for cheap?

I know, it’s madness that the prices are bumped just for one day of the year

Turkey breast roast from Iceland or similar , loads of fresh veg (spuds ,brussels etc ) ,stuffing , bread sauce - feed a family of 4 for under a tenner . Still plenty left over to fry up on Boxing Day .

Turkey and gammon normally. I wouldn't mind trying different things, as long as they're not something I'd ordinarily have (like chicken).

I feel like it wouldn’t be Christmas without the traditional turkey dinner, I love roast dinners and rarely have them so the Christmas dinner is extra special 🙂

There is something to be said for tradition granted . Depends on whether you are alone , a couple or a whole family .

Being a "semi vegie" I'm not to fussed but have to have the roast spuds , vegetables , stuffing , Yorkshires , brussels etc along with ,these days , a Turkey breast joint .

These days not too pricey - above for £10 ish for a family of 4 . But I always overdo the veg , bread sauce and stuffing to fry up on Boxing Day for a super meal 😃

We tend to have roast lamb and roast beef, as well as belly pork. We find turkey too dry, and it can get very expensive, so it‘s not worth paying for it
