Christmas Memories

Other

What is your favourite memory from past Christmas' .

Mine is when we would all try to stay awake to see Santa when he came. Yet every single noise we heard would panic us into pretending to be asleep so Santa wouldn't think we naughty. Lol

I too remember waiting to catch Santa delivering our presents . Also remember telling my siblings I heard him on roof etc. They would then agree they heard him too . The magical innocence of Christmas as child .

I have them similar memories too but I remember so many times having my new toy and it needing batteries that we didn't have and all shops would be closed for few days over Christmas so I would have to wait . Lol. It felt like forever and the toy that needed batteries would be the one out of all my gifts that I wanted to play with straight away. Lol

I had a little milk float with miniature bottles, and I got to wheel around the house and deliver milk. I also had a hoover like mums! magic sets, whizzer and chips annuals and Rupert Bear books. I had Pinky and Perky records as well. Brilliant wasn't it?Oh and a tree bigger than the ceiling that dad had to saw the top of of every year, better than this years Norwegian one lol.

This post proves a point that I make nearly every Christmas . It is definitely not about spending loads of money on gifts because it’s not the gifts that we remember. It’s the little personal family moments . Most comments are about a family memory not one expensive toy . LOL. Therefore make memories with your family each Christmas because they are priceless and what will be remembered.

Alanhaslam that's so true and I was wondering how many ppl actually remember their big presents or something more personal. From these posts it seems the family memories are coming out on top.

My sons first Christmas after his heart operation. We spent it at my parents and to see the joy on my parents face watching him open his presents, eating his Christmas dinner, playing with his Grandad, it was just wonderful to see. There was a Tim we didn't know if he would make it to his first birthday, so that first Christmas was so magical.

Both of my nans used to visit for Christmas and as we were only a small family of my mum, brother and I, it was lovely having more people around.

My childhood memory is of plucking a Turkey , out the kitchen , taking ages to do it!!! I left my old house before I was 9. So must have been 8 years old , we left in the summer- time.

I remember Xmas eve my great grandma would come to stay. Xmas morning we weren't allowed to get up until the coal fire was lit, by that time the smell of turkey was in the air. We had breakfast, lunchtime my dad would go up the pub whilst we finished off dinner which was usually at 2pm sharp. After the queens speech we opened presents and then had tea. Its totally different these days
