Are You More of a City or a Country Person?
Ask a Question
I grew up in the city and am unfortunately currently still living in one (in a suburb), but I prefer the country by far, and as soon as I am able to do so that is where I will be moving to. To me, the countryside smells and looks a lot fresher than cities do and are also a lot more peaceful overall.
I prefer the suburbs so that I can go into the city whenever I want and it’s not too far away. Although I do like the odd trip away to the countryside you are right lots of fresh air and peace and quiet does good
I am with you on this one RC90. I do envy my sister and try to get away to hers for a break when work permits, and if ever covid let's me. It is a long drive but worth it. I tried to move nearer 3 years ago but won't go into it again as spoke about it on here before. Although I love my house and garden, when I open front door gloom descends as I venture into the concrete jungle!
I grew up in the wilds of North Northumberland where the only things you saw was your sister and sheep! You had to have a car, if lucky, to go anywhere even to get the school bus. Moved to a small village (24 houses) near the coast when I got married (73 houses when I left) now live in a small town in next County and love it, so close to shops etc and no need for a car.
Hi regularcomper90 l love country life. Fresh air keeps you fit. Lovely views. No one to tell you keep the noise down. I do hope your dream dos come true for you. You will
Love it. Soon I will be getting some chicks and ducklings. Then later will have fresh eggs. Eddie says hi.
Thank you, Nicola. I hope so too.
That's lovely about the chicks and ducklings. Tell Eddie I said hi back.
I do like the hustle and bustle, but as I get older, I appreciate the more tranquil settings, and some country settings are simply divine
I agree - I grew up in a posh little suburb and I hate the city, I feel really uncomfortable there and quite on edge the whole time... I also couldn’t deal with the noise all day.. equally wouldn’t want to live in the middle of nowhere - but somewhere in between!
I used to love living in the centre of Cardiff because there was so much going on, but that was 25 years ago and I was a lot younger.
Now I live in a small village (which is getting bigger and bigger by the day ) and it's very nice besides the boy racers and the road building.
I couldn't go back to the city now, but I am an old fart.
