What Colour Should a Bedroom Be.
Help
Hi all I am asking for some help. I am doing up my bedroom. And I can't make up my mine what colour it should be. There are far to many colours to pick. I am going to paint the walls. I need one colour for 3 walls and one colour for the main wall. Thank you for your help.
My bedroom is the one place i don't mind being a bit like an eastern pavilion or some such. I have it in various shades of purple/lilac/mauve with candles and other matching decor. Everywhere else is neutral and fairly minimal.
Hi lynnbis love these colour. I've been looking and purple' s. How do you do the three colours. Because I was told you had to have a main wall with a dark colour then 3 walls light. But I love the sound of your 3 colours. Thank you for your help lynibis.
nicolajaynehend i don't think it is compulsory to have 3 light walls and 1 dark, it is personal preference. All 4 of my walls are pale lilac but I have purple curtains and rugs, various shades in scarves, candles and a purple wire flower frame on the wall which holds junk jewellery. Lounge is in beige and gold on an Egyptian theme!
Lynibis thank you for your help. Never thought about the curtains and rugs. But you have helped me know end thank you. I think I am going to wards the colour purple .that was my 1st choice. I think is a lovely rest full colour. Love the sound of your front room beige and gold. My front room when I get around to it is going to be black and cream. But the other room for when people come I am stuck. All these colours to choice from.
When I lived at my other house before we moved I had blue paint with a space scene going on. Astronauts, the moon, stars, all the planets. It was glow in the dark. Miss that room.
Hi rebeccarowelotl. Your old bedroom sounded fun. Love blue my bathroom is be done out in light blue. Could you not redo it in your new bedroom. In my bedroom I have a moon and stars projector. Ii was worth the money and it very rest full.
I'm a bit unimaginative, every room in my home has white walls. I also like green in the bedroom as it's a very calming colour, I have a very pale green bed set and curtains.
Hi jamala it seem that a lot of people like a green bedroom. I not sure about the colour. To me its a kitchen colour. Ive a friend who has one wall black and the other 3 walls are red. And it's bright not a colour I would have picked for a bedroom. Thank you for your help.
nicolajaynehend i used to have to go to an old lady's flat as part of my job and her whole hall and into lounge was black and red. It looked awful , more like a bordello but being as she had long silver hair and looked a bit witchy it was quite unnerving. The walls were red with black and red rugs, red curtains and black nets and black leather suite. Colours can certainly affect mood and I used to find it very heavy and depressing.
Hi Lynibis I bet you were glade to come out of the house. I love black but would not put it on the walls. But some peole do. I have another friend who has just painted her front front room red. It would give me a headache. But she loves it.
Either cream or white but blue, green and red are interesting colors I've not tried before.
I have dark floral wallpaper on every wall. A bit much for some I know, but I tend to love a moody, kind of cocoon-y feeling in my room
Hi jash3 your bedroom sound lovely. I love dark colours. I love black. My front room is black and cream. I think I know the wall paper you are on about.
Hi JaSh3 love the wall paper. Love the colour. Love to have a room done out like this. Now that's what I call a very good colour for a bedroom. Like you said not may peole would like it but I love it. Thank so much for sharing it.
Missoula Blue from Dutch Boy evokes a feeling of calmness and clarity, making it a wonderful color for the bedroom. A hint of gray keeps it from being bright, but it's close to a pure blue, and so works well with most other colors, and decorating styles from casual to formal.

All so thank you for given me the name Pinterest I will look in to it. There is just so much colours to choice from. You think yes I will have that colour then you see another colour then you like that colour. I have a dinning room come sitting room I call it the posh room and that all so needs doing up. At the Monet my head is full of colours. Has you can guess I am doing the house up. And I've still got the kitchen to do. Bathroom is sorted it's a soft blue like the colour of the sea. Hi jigsawx3x what a lovely colour for a bedroom. I to can't sleep at night. I am disable. Thank you for sharing your colour with me.
any colour is fine as long as you love it yourself since you will be the one living with it. but you do need to remember dark colours decrease the light in the room
Hi mmokane24 I was thinking soft coloures not dark colours . I love dark colours but it's not for a bedroom. Thank you for your help.
I think a warm color can be great, it can be pink, orange, green, but on the warm side, it will make a psychological effect, that the room is warmer.
Do not paint it to red!
Hi agnesfaludi I was think a warm colour for a bedroom. But I would never paint walls in red or black. Thank you ever so much
