A Competition Moan (From a Different Member This Time)

Competitions

Sometimes when I am entering a competition and about to share it on here, I obviously look for a mention of when the comp ends. However, for some reason some sites don't always mention any end date whatsoever, even in the terms and conditions. This is a little annoying because it means I have to make up an end date when posting it on here.

This is true, not all sites put an end date and I often don't post comps without a 'correct date' just because there is no way I can get it right - unless they are regularly posting and you can guess accurately. Definitely a valid moan.

It bugs me that you get competition emails with the subject line saying CONGRATULATIONS! Then you open it and it's congratulations to someone else!! I fell for it a couple of times and had a few seconds of excitement before realising 😂

I have had that loads of times, and I wish I had a pound for every time that happened to me. I also get emails with the subject line saying CONGRATULATIONS! and when I open that email up and it turns out that it is only congratulating me on entering a comp, not winning one.

Also, why do we need to actually be informed that someone else won?

I also know that feeling 😂 I am about a 1 year in entering competitions but won only one children book so I was super exited when I saw that "congratulations email"!

Such a shame it wasn't congratulating me 😂

Yes I hate this! Or you get "Congratulations! For entering our competition we're giving you 10% off!!!" 🤣

This is a problem. Depending on the competition and the website I usually give it 1-3 weeks and mention it in the description box. Although, this issue is even worse with voucher codes.

I don't know why anyone needs to be congratulated for entering a comp. As if you have done something wonderful or it's a cause for celebration. Yep, I wanna win a holiday, now congratulate me for trying🐒

I totally agree! Sometimes the competition it's worth posting due to the great prizes but ending date it's impossible to find 😕 I usually estimate in that case but I always mention that I was unsure of it and I can understand that this could be very annoying if you trying to enter but they no longer available 🙈
