Are there any competitions that pay ( if you're " lucky " enough to win , into paypal accounts ? I'm not comfortable letting my personal details out into WWW world . Thanks .

In order for you to be able to be drawn, you will have to enter your data in some online form. The payment will depend on the type of prize, but once drawn, the information is exchanged directly with the company and no longer online.

mrgoggll The best idea for you is to create a new email (free one like Gmail) only for competitions use, so you are not inundated with spam in your personal one.
