Yep, give them a massive fine and a criminal record.

If they refuse to pay the fine, double it and garnish their wages/benefits.

If they do it again, double it again.

They'll soon stop doing it when they're significantly hit in the pocket.

Really depends on the circumstances and what they have done. Personally I think there is to much emphasis on fining people in this country already , and prison is not the answer as they are already overcrowded. People need to be educated more, given accurate and genuine facts and more timely information, which throughout this whole pandemic has been thin on the ground. To be fair even our own Prime Minister is confused by the rules.

The rules are confusing but some people still don't admit covid is real problem

A chat boy to ask if we can do things would be great

I think we also need to look into helping people who have mental health issues

RyanTownleyUK30 The problem is that mental health services have been run down for years and there's just not enough trained people to go around.

And then there's people who are just taking the pee and saying that they have depression and anxiety just to get ESA/PIP and that puts an extra strain on already limited resources.

And it's not going to get any better any time soon. You might be able to see someone who is unqualified in psychiatry if you push your GP enough and they feel that you are genuinely in crisis, but besides that, no chance.

Hopefully you are keeping your doctor up-to-date in how your medication is performing, and if you feel that it isn't, you need to go back and maybe get it changed. What's good for one person isn't necessarily good for someone else.

Yes with massive fines which balance the missing tax.

I also think they should fine the youngsters who went to that rave party...

I think we do need tougher punishments for people who break the rules. So many people have been fined since this began, but it doesn't seem to have achieved much, as there are many repeat offenders. Maybe if the fines were higher initially, it would have been more of a deterrent.

There is a massive blame game going on all over the place, here included, but who do you blame the most? Read this article and then decide - if people at the source can't stick to the guidelines then what hope do we have?

Something needs to change to stop people being covid idiots but fines aren't currently working as it only affects the poor. Its hard for the government to implement restrictions and people actually follow them when they have one rule for the government and one rule for the public.

Perhaps for repeat offenders but do we want a generation of kids with criminal convictions
