Cooking Books

Ask a Question

I love cooking and I got "what are what you eat" cookbook however I miss pics in the recipes. I think it is important to have a visualisation of how it looks like. What do you think? I enjoy videos the most.

I think it's very important too. I don't like cookbooks that don't have pictures.

My fave cookery books don't have pics ...but they tend to be the basic books with my old well used recipes (I'm hopeless at remembering quantities) .... for new dishes, I tend to look online nowadays ...and save in Evernote if I need the pic too.

I agree that pics are good. But does annoy me when the pic is not what it really looks like. I read once that they often photograph the food before it is properly cooked because it looks better. I have lots of cookbooks but the best one is Save with Jamie.

I prefer to watch videos also, especially when you can compare different recipes. Books aren't enough

Without a clear image of the end product many dishes would look different in every house. Pictures are surely an essential and helpful aid when cooking. Image

I definitely like a photograph as a pictorial aid when cooking something new for the first time. So much about food is visual I think?

I’ve stopped using all my cookbooks and quickly find recipes online. There’s always a picture not that mine always resemble it, especially sponges.

I’ve noticed that a lot of cookbooks don’t have don’t have photos. I definitely prefer when they do because I feel like it helps with making the recipe better since you know what you’re looking for.
