Divorce Rates Hit a 50 Year Low.....

Other

Divorce rates have hit a 50 year low!

Apparently the cost of living crisis has caused a 'cost of leaving crisis' with lots of people feeling stuck in relationships because they feel they couldn't afford the bills alone. Have you ever heard of someone staying for this reason?

I have heard people stay together for this reason and they separate the living arrangements in the home. Many people also stay together because of the children, really don’t think that’s a good reason.

The biggest winners when a couple divorce are solicitors and estate agents.

That’s a shame that people feel stuck in their marriages, I’m always shocked by the divorce figures.

I think it is understandable, that some people feel they cannot leave a relationship due to financial issues. It is so sad that it even has to come into it, happiness should always come first. Unfortunately these days it isn’t always the case 🙁.

It can be more expensive to get divorced than it can be to get divorced. I did my own divorce otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do it

I know a lot of couples stay together for the sake of their children. My first husband was a gambler and I worked my fingers to the bone just so that my kids could eat and be clothed and shoes.I was a single parent for a number of years. I met my second husband through friends and everything was good at first. I ended up been married to a Jekyll and Hyde character. He was nice to everyone on the outside but behind closed doors he was different. He belittled me and put me down at every opportunity. He was also seeing and texting his ex.He left me with thousands of pounds of debt and ruined my good name and it also had a massive impact on my mental health which I am still struggling now with it.

Is it because a lot of people live together and don't get married?

Probably. It's scary as there will be people living in abusive situations unable to leave because of money
