What Does Everyone Eat for Christmas Dinner?

Ask a Question

So this year I am making salmon canapés, then Camembert, then turkey roast will all the trimmings. Followed by a white Twix cheesecake.

We are going to be so full 🙈

What do you think of this?

I usually make homemade lentil soup for starters but none of us are ever very bothered about it as we can’t wait for the full turkey roast 😍 really looking forward to it then i think i will make banoffee pie for pudding 🤩

Then lots of leftovers for tea that evening/snacking on boxing day

Starter undecided whether just a simple prawn cocktail or a baked camembert platter. Main we are having duck, turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, honey glazed carrots & parsnips, broccoli, kale & sprouts. Dessert I am going to make a salted caramel cheesecake as requested but I would like some black forest gateau. To wash it all down copious amounts of wine, gin & one or two baileys.

We're not having a starter, but will be having smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels with bucks fizz for breakfast.

For dinner it will be roast turkey, sausage meat stuffing wrapped in bacon, pigs in blankets, sprouts with chestnuts, carrots, honey glazed parsnips, roast potatoes and a LOAD of gravy.

Black forest gateau for dessert (not homemade 😮)

I'm guessing you make your own stuffing then? I don't like packet stuff myself so make my own with sausage meat.

Definitely with you on gravy my OH says I drown my food

Imnotcheap I won't be making the pork stuffing. I find that sausage meat can be very fatty and quite expensive for what it is, so I've bought a pre-prepared one from Tesco.

I will be making my own parsley and thyme stuffing though.

We don't have starters. We have Gammon, turkey, roast and mashed potatoes, pigs in blankets, carrots, parsnips, bread sauce, gravy. Not decided on dessert yet, but probably a lemon meringue pie as its my husbands favourite and his mum normally makes one every year.

I'll have a small turkey crown in the slow cooker, roast lamb in the oven and all the trimmings so a bit of everything

We choose our starters , as we only eat Turkey for Christmas it always gets demolished as we all love it and eat every inch of it .We have everything from pigs and blankets to Brussel sprouts. For pudding its anything involving Baileys for my wife ,Gateux for me , desserts for the kids.

Not very Christmassy but on Christmas Day normally have a steak dinner as quick to prepare and have the more traditional Christmas Dinner on Boxing day.

We don’t usually do anything traditional. But on Christmas Eve night, my sister and I pick one dish each to prepare; one using the oven and another using the stove. That’s what we re-heat and have on Christmas Day.

The last few years we have gone out for lunch, however this year we are going to collect our Christmas lunch on Christmas Eve and we just have to cook it. It saves all the hassle and at £30 for 2 it's not bad value. Going to have Turkey with all the trimmings and I think my husband choose cheesecake for me.

Prawn and melon cocktail, broth, lemon sole with cheese sauce, 3 roasts - turkey, gammon and beef with mash and roast potatoe, honey Turnip and Parsnips, carrots, pigs in blankets, 2 different stuffings meat and skirly, gravy and cranberry sauce then usually about 5 different puddings. Trifle, cheese cake, sticky toffee pudding, pavalova and of course a Christmas pudding. Plenty of choice for everyone and of course left overs for Boxing Day. The remainder of the meat will be frozen and made into meat roll in January

I haven't decided yet! Maybe duck. Maybe gammon. And for starters probably some smoke salmon. My mum sent us a box of goodies from France so I'm waiting for it to arrive and see what's in it before I decide on the menu
