Don't Mow the Lawn if You Want to Feel Cooler in the Garden

In the News

With temperatures increasing all the time now with global warning we all want to try to keep cooler

Who would have thought the length of the grass in your garden can dictate how hot your garden is

The article is showing the difference between an unmown lawn and one that has been cut

Surprisingly there is a massive difference between the two ,

The photo of the unmowed lawn shows a reading of 25.5 degrees C or just under 78 degrees F. The temperature of the mown lawn is 34.3 Celsius or about 94 degrees F , nearly 10 degrees more in Celsius and 20 degrees more in Fahrenheit.

Synthetic grass can reach 126.5 degrees F, 50 degrees hotter than natural grass

They are advising to keep your grass longer for a cooler garden

If you don't you could become a 'blade runner' in your bare feet

telmel my husband insists that it’s not good to cut the grass too short. I would lower the mower blade if I had my way but as it’s his chore it’s his decision.
