Do you sleep with your bedroom door open?
Other
I saw this morning that It is safer to sleep with the bedroom door closed than it is open, due to fires. I sleep with my bedroom door and my daughters door open landing light on, I remember this is how id always had it as a child. Does anyone actually sleep with the door closed? Curious
I can relax a lot more with my door closed. I feel insecure having it open especially when I want to go to sleep.
I always have my door shut too. Not necessary due to the fire safety, I just always did it without putting much thought in to it
Two ways of looking at this. If you have a sturdy door that is shut a fire could have more time to take hold and you may not hear the alarm, if you have one. I always sleep with my door wide open as I figure I will hear an intruder more easily and have time to phone the police, or fire brigade in the case of fire. Imagine being trapped in your bedroom, awful.
I can't sleep with the doors open have to have them closed. Have always been like this. Just find it more better and feel more comfortable with them shut
I have to sleep with my bedroom door closed, otherwise my cat will bite my feet to wake me up for a feed at three in the morning!
Depends what puss is up to. If she is on the bed with me sleeping then I can put her food and tray in with me and close it but if she is asleep on the sofa I leave it open because in the morning she will often want to come and wake me up or find me.
yes I do always have I'm 51 also have to have the light shining in as well but I'm deaf and it's assuring for me
It feels weird it being open , i ferl like theres always someonr in my home if its open ahaha
You get the same sort of feeling as you do when you close your eyes whilst in the shower. Spooky.
nearly Everyone I know sleeps with the door closed. Must just be a select few of us that don’t haha.
Always have it open. I feel safer with it open. The risk of fire is less than the risk of walking into the door going to the toilet in the middle of the night. Haha
In summer my bedroom door is usually open otherwise it gets rather stuffy. In winter it's always closed to conserve heat. Not rocket science.
