Driverless Cars
News
Not sure I'd call it brilliant but a slippery slope that will never work properly. Driverless trains work because they are in rails and they are controlled properly but the same can't be said on roads.
To be fair, no actual human driver would have avoided hitting that pedestrian but it still shows driverless cars are a flawed idea.
Hopefully there won't be "pilotless airplanes" and whoever were to get into a plane like that then might as well write a will beforehand.
What about the number of drink drivers and idiots high on drugs? The amount of these are increasing all the time, and the police can only do so much even if they have a tip off about someone driving home from the pub after drinking.
CherylParry Those are problems with a solution, i.e., drunk and high drivers can either be banned, suspended or jailed for driving under those circumstances. But giving robots the ability to drive, that becomes an issue that can't be solved until it's caught or stopped entirely.
Humans can never fully control robots as they'll gain a mind of their own.
