Exploring America by RV: Advice and Ideas?

I am thinking of doing a road trip across America in a RV as I have been watching Brad and Bradley and I was wondering if anyone on here as done this and if so any helpful tips for this trip and places to stop and visit

Firstly, please take me as well, it's long been a dream of mine 
This picture shows the alleged best route to take, but it very much depends on how much time you have.
Personally I'd spend more time towards the North of the Country, as the wildlife would be more interesting (bears, Wolves etc)
This probably doesn’t help much but I have just come back from a road trip in Australia. But my advice is pack light. We also purchased light weight bags that fold up small for storing in camper van. Also plan as much as you can in advance. We lost time deciding what to do next.

jillylovesyou It’s the third time we have been and because it’s so vast we still haven’t seen it all. This time we managed, Sydney to Brisbane to Melbourne back to Sydney.
