Dvd or Blu Ray?
Help
Trying to decide whether to get a normal dvd player or get a blu ray. Any advice welcome.
Well, on a blue ray player you can play both formats. If you get a non blue ray player you will not be able to play blue ray dvds.
I was about to say exactly the same thing - I was also about to ask if anyone still played discs - but my question appears to have been answered.
davidstockport i must admit that along with plex, I have Amazon and Netflix so my DVD collection has become somewhat redundant.
Lynibis I use NOW TV (no contract) at the moment I'm using a two month pass I bought with box over two years ago, I don't think I'll pay for Films in the future (I don't watch many) I can still use the box for catch up etc. and the film I thought one of the best I'd seen recently "Step Brothers" I noticed several DVD copies of (25p each) in my favourite charity shop - so what films I want to watch, at that price seem the best bet.
Blu ray all the way. They are cheap enough now. HMV regularly doing 5 for 30 on new or just as i do use CEX uk.webuy.com to get loads of second hand ones that work perfect.
DVD can't see any thing in blue ray. To me it's the same picture has a DVD. But blue ray is way to dear.. I will be sticking with DVD a lot cheaper and a
Lot better.
You can actually find blu-ray players manufacture refurbished (which means as good as new) on ebay for under £50. Here's just one of many https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PANASONIC-DMP-BDT167EB-Smart-3D-Blu-ray-DVD-Player/173743905366?epid=691381072&hash=item2873f19a56:g:imUAAOSwLNxcPxtZ
I always, when possible, buy REFURBISHED they're usually better than new - they've had a thorough check up before being offered for sale. Most are actually new they've just perhaps a mark on box or returned by a customer - who didn't know what they were buying
