I like Eating Honey, but draw the Line at Bees or Wasps

Other

I have seen some stupid stunts in my life but this takes the biscuit , or in this case the wasp

The Japanese are known for their extreme 'sports' ,as are the Chinese so it seems, but chewing on a wasp is not just showing an angry face , but also a very swollen one

This influencer was banned after the stunt went wrong

I hit a wasp's nest on a friend's allotment once. I was chased and stung in very personal and private places. Wasps live on and leave a scent which lets all their mates know it's a good target. Bees are sooo different when they sting, they die because they leave their lower torso behind. I love honey more than Pooh. Image

You know, I bought Rowse's organic honey and since the cold weather arrived the honey has turned frozen. 🥶

Same happens to the olive oil. :-/

PhilipMarc You can just heat the honey up in the microwave for 10 or so seconds to make it runny again, and then let it go back to frozen

It won't go off, but not sure about the olive oil P

telmel I've done that to butter although I'd prefer if it were done more organically. Have to use fire or the microwave to unfreeze it, yep.

PhilipMarc I think you meant "solid" (not frozen) when the honey has been warmed (standing jar in hot water or warming on radiator will do the same as microwave) it will remain liquid again for many weeks or months. If it does turn solid again - just repeat the warming process. It will not solidify just because it's returned to room temperature.

The same applies to olive oil although oil can go rancid after some years whereas honey will not deteriorate with age - some honey found from thousands of years ago was still OK.

Not for me certainly. I almost died 4 years ago when I got stung on the face. I went into anaphylactic shock and was rushed to hospital. Didn't even know I had a severe allergy to wasps! Now I have two EpiPens.

Xenophon It's strange how a wasp or bee sting can affect some people but not others X , it's like peanut allergies, i love peanuts and luckily do not suffer any reactions from eating them, the same with wasp or bee stings,i am lucky and i just get a swollen lump for a day or two
