Have You Ever Stayed in a Capsule Hotel?
Ask a Question
I just watched a travel show about these kind of hotels and I don’t think they’re for me - you don’t get much space (a bit like being in a pod in a spacecraft), and having done a quick search, they don’t seem to be that cheap
Have you ever stayed in one? what was it like?
I spent the night in a Tokyo capsule hotel for the experience. Once you are settled in it's OK. The one I stayed in had a small TV inside. I slept fine, but wouldn't recommend it if you're claustrophobic or spending more than one night. I'm glad I tried it, but wouldn't want to stay at one again.
I don’t normally have problems with tight spaces, but the idea of paying to be stuck in a cupboard? No thanks. I’d prefer a room
Yes including a few windowless hotels with very small rooms. Pods or capsule hotels in Japan are ok but literally for sleeping, no moving around or using the room for leisure purposes.
Small windowless hotel rooms are quite common and I've found these generally done well with lots of innovative lighting to address the lack of natural light to reflect sunrise, sunset etc. One room had a TV with programmes, one with trees and swishing tree and bird noises to mirror the outside area.
No way, not worth it. Ok to experience once, but I like my space. And I need space for my things too
