Favourite Part of Christmas Day?
Ask a Question
After discussing with the family what their favourite part of Christmas day is, I thought I would open the question up on here. What is your favourite part?
We do a bit of running around on Christmas Day and then it's home to finish cooking the dinner, so for me it's after the washing up and tidying up. I can sit with my feet up in the evening and enjoy a nice drink and chocolates with a good film.
You haven't told us the outcome of your conversation with your family. What is your favourite part?
tumblespots thanks for asking. Mine is that it's the one day a year we can all spend together without everyday interpretations. How about you?
vixe80 The adult pass the parcel that has recently become a tradition (made by me and is already ready), it makes me chuckle when I think of the surprise contents
I don't have just one favourite part. I love seeing my son opening his presents, I love seeing the look on his face when Granny and Grandad show up and he shows them his new toys and Grandad plays with him. I love sitting down for dinner together and talking. I love just sitting watching the Christmas day TV with my husband, son and parents and laughing together.
I really enjoy watching my kids open their presents and the excitement of Christmas eve. I honestly don't care if I receive anything. Seeing them enjoy the Christmas magic is so special. Not sure I'll be saying that when there teenagers but I've got a few years left before then.
Midnightflower it is magical to see how excited the little ones are, although mine still had the excitement as teenagers, just in a different way.x

Wouldn't say it's my favourite part but I am really looking forward to hearing our new King's speech this year.
My favourite part will be a whole day spent with both sons and their families.
My favourite part, is seeing my husband & son opening their presents, we have leisurely breakfast of buck fizz & croissants and take turns in opening our gifts. I buy gifts throughout the year and I love seeing if it was a hit or miss
When all the veg has been peeled and table set for lunch it’s time to relax and spend time with the family.
Just being together and everyone spending time with my mum and dad giving me a break as I'm their full time carer 24/7
jigsawx3x I cared for my parents when they were alive & appreciate how draining it can be. So I'm happy you'll get a break & some time to enjoy yourself.
This year my son is spending Christmas day at his with his girlfriend. So my favourite part will be in the evening when they come to us for drinks & I have my sons together.
Glitterandgold I think this will be the last year my oldest doesn't go off christmas day with his girlfriend. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time and that the evening when back will be extra special.
Seeing our kids open their presents, the chaos...as much as I moan about the mess and toys everywhere I wouldn't have it any other way really!
PinkElephant26 that's the part I miss so much seeing their little faces light up not the same when they in their 30s but grandkids come to me to open off me
PinkElephant26 I'm exactly the same with the chaos, but have come to fact that's how it should be
I am not a fan of Christmas and New Year too many Bad Memories, but I grit my teeth and get on with it I will be glad when it’s over with , I wish the years would slow down a bit I prefer the Summer
I love the magic of the whole day but especially love seeing the kids faces when they wake up to see Santa had been . Then seeing them excitedly opening their presents
Alanhaslam it really is magical with kids isn't it. I love how excited they are Xmas eve too.
vixe80 yes I think that’s what does it for me, the kids excitement. I remember when they used to get up asking each other if they heard Santa on roof at such a time
