Is anyone a regular festival goer?
What are your thoughts and opinions on festivals?
Is there a particular festival you wont miss?
I went to my first festival last year and loved it! I really want to go to one again this year but there's no line ups that particularly appeal to me, considering Slam Dunk but that's a one day festival not a camping weekend sort of thing
I was wanting to go to the north slam dunk thats at temple newsam but not sure as i can count on one hand how many of the bands i like. Im not sure weather or not to go as i dont wanna be wasting money but never been before
chelseaturpin I know what you mean, for me two of my favourite bands are playing slam dunk and so I can justify spending the money for the ticket as it means I get to see those two plus discover a lot of others
Chelsea0121 I love Slam Dunk festival, find it annoying the prices are going up and up every year. I started going to Slam Dunk when I was a teenager and was a third of the current price ticket.
We’ve been going to Kendal Calling for a few years now. It’s only around 5 miles from us so it’d be rude not to! The kids have always enjoyed it as there’s plenty going on. 15th Birthday this year & they’ve pulled some decent names in......Only issue is the weather, being in the Lakes kinda ensures rain, rain, rain and knee deep mud
I love/hate festivals love the bands and meeting new people who have similar interests but hate the camping part (but who doesn't) I've been to a few festivals but going to my first Glastonbury this year woo!
Totally with you on the camping. Leeds Fest just up the road from my dad might treat myself to a weekend ticket and walk it their and back, id rather be in my own bed than laid in a sleeping bag on a field.
chelseaturpin ahh that sounds so much better than camping!! I usually go to reading as it's closer to where I'm from than Leeds but sadly not walking distance have a great time!
The closest thing to a festival I have been to is the Coventry Godiva Festival, when I went it used to be free entry! It didn’t involve any camping though so not proper festival! The year I went they had Lethal Bizzle that’s about the most famous person I can remember!
I went to the first five years of the Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham. It changed from being a bit hippy and a bit new age to copies of the times being given out to people as they came in the last year I went. Apart from that, no, I haven't been to any festivals, I don't think.
Does the jazz, science, music and literature festivals of cheltenham count? I've been to several of those to see different things such as attenting talks.
