Finally the Sun is Out - Are You Gardening?
Ask a Question
Now the sun is out, if you have a garden, have you got any plans. Just cut the grass and generally having a tidy up.
The is now out over the moon I ha e a garden so I can cut the grass and maybe play football with the kids.
Lush sun is out just a shame people are not listening and going to beaches parks etc been put cut grass small tidy up
Sun has been out all day here, pity I don't have a garden. I did catch a few rays when trying to catch some milk.
It's been absolutely lovely here today, thrown all the windows open and mowed the lawn while my partner stained the fences. It was actually warm enough for us to sit out and eat our lunch, lovely just what we needed.
We had lunch in the garden today, trying to top up our vitamin D! The sunshine makes everything seem a little better. At least if the weather stays fine, people will be able to get out for some exercise and fresh air
plans.... I have inherited about 10 roses bushes from the previous owners, non of which have been prunned for probably over a decade, I'm guessing. It's taken me 2 days off and on and to sort those roses out. Then there's the rotten old tree I've discovered that I'm pulling apart with my hands. I've started making my large open air compost heap. Tomorrow I'm getting the fork out and going to weed out the area next to the raised beds and hopefully plant some wild flowers. I am loving it outside though. Hard work but so nice with the bees, butterflies, and birds.
eyeballkerry huge job. Much more than I expected as I didn't know just how over grown with brambles it would be as I only saw the house for about 15 mins in October and you don't get to really see it properly. It will be great once done. I've discovered I have a pear tree and 2 blackcurrants bushes as well as 2 apple trees. Very happy about that.
I have made a start karchering my garden today so weve got somewhere nice to go now we cant go to the parks etc. Its so theraputic.
Been out for the majority if the day again and have only finished half the garden and cleaned all the toys/furniture (my fault for not putting thren away for winter). Hopefully i can finish it tomorrow
That was me for the last two days. Just tinkering around. A few weeds and today hopefully trimming our hedges.
It will be the power washer next. Him indoors trusts me not one bit with that thing and always takes over. Basically is psychological delegation. Always works!
Xx
Lol that is very clever. Wish I had someone to try psychological delegation on! No, come to think of it I don't. I think murder would be on the cards if I were in lockdown with a man, and he would probably feel the same.
I mowed the lawn yesterday but left cuttings piled up by fence as I don't think garden refuse will be collected now as it is not essential.
Today, like you will trim hedges....have fun!
We finally! Cut the grass yesterday. Just doing that and having the sun peek at us has made me feel much better/happier. Just wish it was here to stay
I've sorted out my strawberry patch, changed my herb bed into my rhubarb bed and potted my herbs, cut my hedges and turned my compost heap in the last week between working. Hopefully get the grass cut this week and sort out my gooseberry bushes
I started a patio area today. Washed down the patio furniture. Dad mowed part of my massive lawn; didn't have time to do it all. Compost area is coming on. I need to get the grow tents up as I don't know if my greenhouse will be delivered or will we be on lockdown? Also planted the wild flower seeds!! First seeds of the year in.
Sounds lovely. Always makes me feel much better being outside. When the weather is kind, I try to get out for 30 mins or so just to keep on top of things.
My garden is much smaller than my last one I had a third of acre and my partner really loved cutting all that grass! He is so much happier now as we have a space that is much more manageable.
Xx
Ceebers I have a small garden out front and mum mowed that one for me yesterday. I have no idea how much land I have. There was no figures on it. I worked out that is definately 6 times larger than my previous garden, which wasn't a bad size, but not enough for the food growing, etc, I have planned. My builder ( I don't think my building work will happen this year), said that I had ample room for a tennis court and in just the top part of the garden, never mind the bottom part. Today I am putting the emergency bought wilko plastic 6ft by 4ft greenhouse up as I don't know if I will get my actual greenhouse the way things are going. It's on order. I will put compost in tiny seed pots ready for planting seeds next week.
My boyfriend has cut the grass in our garden and I hind out washing to dry for the first time this year outside! Loads to do in our garden though but no where to put all the rubbish!
Oh I wish the sun was out in Glasgow, it's freezing. I love being in the garden and have been jealous seeing the picture of the sun down south.
We have had that cold sorry rain and think it's to get really cold and even snow at the weekend!@eyeballkerry
yes, just a little bit, nothing to strenuous. I have planted a few bits and pieces recently, so I hope they grow fine
I lost energy today early. I'm wiped out. I was pruning/cutting down hedges/scrubs etc. Lots of dead wood to be removed. I do however have my first 'babies' that have germinated in the seed germinator - Basil, pea and tomato! Only a couple of plants of each so far, but my first babies are here. The plastic mini 6ft by 4ft greenhouse is up and I have filled pots with compost ready for seeds and planted some. nasty frost like night, so I'm holding off any more outdoor seed planting for now. Tomorrow more pruning and then I get to start forking out weeds in the flower beds.
Mowed the lawn yesterday. Lots of jobs to keep me busy. However I'm sure that I'll have plenty of days to do them so today I just relaxed and enjoyed the sun.
I have a massive garden now TV sun is out if I have time I will cut the grass and tide up
