Ask a Question
I just wondered where everyone is from. I'm from greater manchester hello. Wonder how far latest deals reaches. Anyone not in the UK?
Originally, Southampton.. now, west coast of Scotland by Loch Lomond.. moved here almost 5 years ago and wouldn’t look back
Originally from Cornwall then move to Plymouth. Then when I was 20 years old came to Scotland with my mum and dad. I live in the highlands not far from John o groats . Been hear 31 years this hellaween . Would never ever go back. I am now on my own. Because my mum and dad have pass away now. So I stayed hear on the farm. And I just love it. The city is 200 miles away from me. . ☺
Wow, I love the Scottish Highlands, I worked in Aberdeenshire in my 20's for a couple of years at a hotel near Balmoral, when I returned home I did actually pine for the mountains and breathtaking, absolute jaw dropping scenery!. I also found all the folks up there to be some of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met, and they're rightly very proud of their heritage. x
That sounds lovely, I would love to live on a farm one day, thats my goal. I stay in South lanarkshire at the moment but would love to move further up north.
nickpillock I hope your dream will come true. I love this life. It's a lot better then city life. Like I said I would never go back. I've got a few sheep Shetland pony she is 31 years old now. I've never been to Lanarkshire. It looks lovely.
In Somerset and I am so jealous of nicolajaynehend and sarahgreen15 . We were all set to move up there earlier this year but family circumstances prevented us. So fingers crossed for next year.
Hi Janhrrs So sorry to hear you could not move this year to Scotland. I will keep my fingers cross for you next year. What part of Scotland are you moving to. ☺
Hi nicolajaynehend we are hoping to go to the Cairngorms - Ballindalloch area. Anywhere North of there we would be ecstatic. It depends where my husband can get work.
Hi janhrrs the cairngorms are lovely. Your nearest city would be Inverness or Perth. All the very best in the job hutting and getting. your house were you want to live. ☺
joannecroston i love it and times i wish i lived elsewhere. What part do they live?
Hey, I am originally from Essex but I now live in Birmingham. I was younger when I lived in Essex but I think I definitely prefer it up in the Midlands!
Hiya I'm Andrea from just outside Wigan, it's a nice little town called Ashton in Makerfield. Lived in Manchester City Centre for 10 years enjoying my misspent youth, but returned to my little sleepy town to start a family, cos I loved being a kid here, lots of parks. So Hi all and a special 'alreet' to my fellow Northeners. This might be controversial, and I speak in very broad terms, but I have found that the further up North I travel the friendlier it gets. I do have lots of great mates headed South too though. x
So true, in general of course as there are lots of lovely people down south. My other half is from surrey and when I first went down there I'd make small talk to people serving me in shops and they'd look at me like I was going to rob them.
joannecroston lol, I love that!!!, it's the little things I noticed like holding a door for someone and saying 'morning' to someone you don't know just because you pass them on the street in the early hours, I've had funny looks for that. x
ACES74 yep sounds familiar. I live in leigh. My other half moved up here 3 years ago and he would say things like why is everyone calling me pal and chatting to me when u don't even know them. Took him a while to get adjusted.
hull for me too i love it here always wondered what it would be like if i moved but i know would'nt i like it too much and all my family are here
My other half is from surrey we live in the north west. Cost of living down there is huge compared to here x
