Funeral Cancelled after Vandals Trash Undertakers Vehicles

Other

Sorry, I read this and was so disgusted I need to rant. What is wrong with people, what satisfaction can these s***bags get for doing this.

I lost my Mum only a few years ago, it's just an emotional time, so I can't imagine how the families must feel to have your loved ones funeral cancelled due to mindless vandalism.

Sadly I agree, with the funeral director 's comment "But our fear is that they will be just let off and nothing will happen to make them responsible for what they’ve done to our livelihood, to the people who are grieving loved ones and to the local residents’ property."

I think we are so lenient with youngsters, that they know they can get away with mindless destruction.😕

beccatavender - I agree with you and the funeral director's comment. I can predict if these so called human beings ever get caught the judge or magistrate will not take the crime committed seriously and will give them either a suspended prison sentence or carry out some form of community work. A complete waste of time taking these *********** to court.

jam45 I read it and it made me so angry, I hope their names get out and the local community treat them the way they deserve.

If it was my child I would be devastated and so ashamed.

Their behaviour is just such mindless unnecessary violence and it will have such a huge impact on a business.

Same sort of scum that vandalise graves. The punishment needs to be so severe that they would never consider doing it again and have massive regrets. The full financial debt of what they have done should go with them and their parents until paid and they should have zero entitlement to benefits and housing. We should pity them because of their punishments and that should be a strong motivation for others not to do the same. In many countries the punishment would be seen as extreme like Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Also there should be no protection for children committing crimes like this it should be removed so people have the right to defend their homes or defend their property and the children end up dead so be it. If someone attacks such a child who has a knife etc and the child ends up dead so be it although its more likely the defender of their property would get injured or killed they should have the right to defend their property. Same sort of youths are responsible for stabbings, burglaries and many other crimes they don't fear the police, courts and people at all because they feel untouchable and we have a load of idealistic morons in charge who ultimately create these situations by making punishments inappropriate to the crimes committed.

Children can be some of the most vile, cruel and violent people just like adults really and we need to get away from giving them special protection. People should be judged by their actions not their age. I certainly feel these children should have a full criminal record.

Ultimately I think its an issue regarding people's mindsets and how information is presented. If an adult defended their property and hurt the children responsible those adults would be presented badly in the media. Imagine if the headline was' Man kills four children defending his property' even if the story was he hit them with baseball bats as they were trying to stab him that man would probably face a horrific time. You would have the vile parents on the media saying how lovely their children were etc and excusing their behaviour. That man may have had to deal with frequent vandalism and causing him huge amounts of distress and anger yet the media warps the reality of a situation.

If you make the criminals the victims so you feel sorry for them and their plight less people will copy them and that can only be achieved with more harsh punishments.

As someone who works with kids and in schools it's frustrating. I believe that kids should have rights definitely but and this is a but, not so they can get away with all sorts of behaviour in the long term it's not good. Prison becomes a status to some. When you've an 11 year old bragging they have been arrested it's not good. Some of this is because of parenting. Some is cos the kids are mixed up with the wrong crowd.
