What Gift(s) Would a New Mum Really Appreciate?

Ask a Question

I became a great uncle today!

What gift would a new Mum really appreciate?

I mean for her, not the baby.

Champagne? Chocolates? Hand cream? Bio-Oil Skincare Oil? Nipple cream?

If you've been a first time Mum please help me out with some suggestions. I thought I might make up a basket of things.

Thanks

Johnny😊

A pamper pack, face masks, bath bombs, etc. have a look on Etsy they do a lot of these kind of things but you would probably be cheaper making up a nice basket yourself

Congratulations Johnny I never seemed to find 'me' time or if I did not enough to pamper myself. I would have loved something like a meal plan box to take the stress out of what to make for tea. Hello Fresh do Gift Cards https://www.hellofresh.co.uk/gift/ and you get everything to make your chosen dish.

Congratulations Johnny! When I became a new mum I didn't have time to pamper myself, I was lucky I got to shower! I would have really appreciated a meal kit box or a takeaway voucher so I didn't have to stress about food! Or a box filled with my favourite snacks and cordials. I think it's lovely you want to get a gift for her, everyone always focuses on the baby, so it's very thoughtful of you.

MrsCraig I agree, I didn’t have time for a pamper either. I think a meal voucher or a hamper is a great idea. And maybe put a wee box of chocolates in and all her fav stuff x

Don’t forget the dad in this too he helped make this happen 😂 so definitely a meal voucher. When I had my second baby I felt awful when people would turn up and leave my 4 year old out but we had him a big present from his new baby sister.

Congrats...i would get them a takeaway...believe me, the last thing you want to be doing is cooking dinner when you've just had a baby! A pamper pack is a good idea too... I'd pop some epsom salts in there as it helps heal (cough cough) lady bits!

Sanctuary do a Mum to Be Pamper Pack, chocolate are always good, plus a hamper of snacks as she may be too tired to cook.

Depending on budget I would arrange a local restaurant to deliver Sunday lunch to the house. It's the practical and nostalgic gift that reminds us all of childhood and a bit of a week marker. Who even knows what day it is with a newborn?

Pamper pack would be perfect as it would really be needed, but with a newborn baby probably wouldn’t have time. Maybe something personalised? A bracelet charm with the initial of her babies name, or a piece of jewellery with the weight and date and name engraved so it’s nice for her but also has something with the baby. Some chocolates, an eye mask, some fluffy socks (I got gifted these when I had a baby and loved it)

Fully agree with the pamper & takeaway voucher. Remember you can also get alcohol free wine & Proseco. I see Gordon's gin have also just launched a 0% Gin. Congratulations on becoming an uncle.😉

Pamper pack with the usuals like facemasks, body lotions etc but also a whole load of snacks! I lived off lucozade after my youngest along with crisps and nibbles as had no appetite.

I bought a relaxation set which included essential oil, body lotion and candle rather than something for the baby. You might like to buy some nipple pads too.
