Gift from the Welsh People to the Queen in Her 6th Birthday, Sweet Story

In the News

Over the last few days, lots of stories have been told about the late Queen's life. I thought this was sweet, it's a 1932 film of her parents accepting a gift for the young princess of a miniature two-storey thatched cottage - called Y Bwthyn Bach - Welsh for The Little Cottage - a carefully planned miniature version of a real-life home.

Beats my Wendy house, hands down 😀

It is wonderfully to think that not only did the Queen and her younger sister played in it, but also her children and grandchildren. Image

That's one really nice miniature house.

blacklabrador I agree, I thought that's what every kid would have wanted, but only the super rich could have afforded. The craftsmanship must have been exceptional for it to still be standing after all these years. I liked the film as it showed her as being a normal little girl who liked playing house.

Soo lovely. My mum always wanted a dolls house because she never had one as a child, so I got her one. Rather expensive furnishing it though!

MelissaLee1963 But I bet you had a lot of fun decorating it, sometimes I think toys are wasted on children as they don't appreciated them 😀

MelissaLee1963 I know I enjoyed rereading Little Women and the Little House on the Prairie series. I think they take you back to a more innocent time.
